In this way the company can monitor all its emissions in accordance with future European Commission obligations and OGMP targets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Project scope<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The work involved the <strong>detection, measurement, and characterization of fugitive and combustion-related methane emissions<\/strong> across several facility types within the gas infrastructure network, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Compressor stations<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Gas processing and distribution units<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Underground storage facilities<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Measurement and control systems<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Methodology<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A <strong>comprehensive multi-technology approach<\/strong> was adopted to ensure data representativeness and methodological robustness, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Infrared Optical Gas Imaging (OGI)<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Identification of methane leaks and unburned emissions in real time using infrared cameras.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Quantitative Optical Gas Imaging (QOGI)<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Quantification of detected emissions by correlating imaging data with flow rate and gas composition.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>High-Flow Sampler (HFS) measurements<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Direct mass flow measurements at emission points to establish emission factors.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Emission factor analysis (EN 15446)<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Application of European standard EN 15446 to estimate total site emissions where direct measurements were not feasible.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Data integration and uncertainty assessment<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Consolidation of datasets, cross-verification between measurement technologies, and evaluation of uncertainty margins according to OGMP requirements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Deliverables and added value<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The results provided the operator with a <strong>comprehensive methane emission inventory<\/strong>, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Quantified <strong>unburned methane emissions<\/strong> per site and source type.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Development of <strong>specific emission factors<\/strong> for future use and benchmarking.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Identification of <strong>high-emission components and operational practices<\/strong> contributing to methane loss.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A <strong>data-driven methodology<\/strong> consistent with OGMP 2.0 Level 4\u20135 reporting standards.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The work positions the client to meet <strong>current and upcoming EU methane regulations<\/strong>, supporting transparency, regulatory compliance, and environmental performance improvement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Closing statement<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through this project, <strong>EHS Techniques<\/strong> consolidates its experience in <strong>methane quantification and OGMP-aligned reporting<\/strong>, assisting gas operators in achieving <strong>accurate, verifiable, and regulatory-ready emissions data<\/strong> across their infrastructure.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>EHS Techniques ofrece soluciones avanzadas para la detecci\u00f3n, cuantificaci\u00f3n y reporte de emisiones de metano, ayudando a los operadores gas\u00edsticos a cumplir con OGMP 2.0 y anticiparse a las exigencias regulatorias europeas mediante metodolog\u00edas de medici\u00f3n rigurosas y verificables.
