However, many organizations start by analyzing only their <strong>Scope 1<\/strong> (direct emissions) and <strong>Scope 2<\/strong> (indirect emissions from electricity) emissions. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This first step is essential, but it does not always provide a complete picture of the organization&#8217;s climate impact. For many companies, a highly significant portion of their emissions lies outside their facilities and direct operations: in their purchasing, suppliers, transport, travel, waste, products sold, or investments. In other words, in <strong>Scope 3.<\/strong>  <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why is Scope 3 calculated less frequently?<br \/><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Scope 3 is more complex because it requires analyzing the <strong>company&#8217;s value chain<\/strong>. Gathering electricity bills or fuel consumption records is no longer enough. It is necessary to:  <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Identify which categories are relevant to the business model.<br \/><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Request information from different departments within the organization.<br \/><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Review detailed purchasing and supplier data.<br \/><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Analyze commuting, transport, waste, and acquired assets.<br \/><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Evaluate, in some cases, the use or end-of-life treatment of sold products.<br \/><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is why many organizations begin by calculating only Scope 1 and 2, leaving Scope 3 for a later stage. However, to advance toward a robust climate strategy, <strong>Scope 3 is key.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Methodology, Data, and Specialized Tools<br \/><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El c\u00e1lculo del Alcance 3 requiere una combinaci\u00f3n de criterio t\u00e9cnico, conocimiento metodol\u00f3gico y herramientas adecuadas para gestionar grandes vol\u00famenes de informaci\u00f3n.
